The next morning, Maya sat straight up in bed, wide awake at once. There were still just two puppies curled up by her feet. “Oh,” she thought. Then a tiny little head peeked up between Silky and Spot. It was an adorable brown and white Chihuahua. “OH, BOY!” Maya cried as she raced to her parent’s room. “It happened again!” she shouted. “What?” her parents exclaimed, sitting up in bed. “Another puppy!” Maya hollered as she raced back to her room. “Three puppies? What is going on?” her parents wondered out loud. “It must be my Christmas wish… I wanted it to be Christmas for a week! How many days in a week?” Maya wanted to know. “Seven,” her dad mumbled. Maya grinned and kissed Annie's little black nose.
